Jules Kendrick named as new CEO of JICWEBS Ltd

Jules Kendrick has been named as the new Chief Executive of the Joint Industry Committee for Web Standards (Jicwebs), the cross-industry body defining standards and best practice for digital advertising.

In a statement released today (08 November), JICWEBS highlighted Kendrick's strong commercial background, plus her media expertise from various roles at organisations such as Mumsnet.com, Amazon UK, Guardian & Observer and Business Insider as key drivers for her appointment.

Kendrick, who will pick up the role on 12th November, joins JICWEBS following 12 months of growth, with the body now having over 130 organisations signed up to be independently verified and receive JICWEBS certification.

In addition to strengthening JICWEBS' strategic partnerships, including their relationship with TAG, Kendrick's experience will further the body's quest to tackling ad fraud and develop brand safety standards.

Jon Mew, CEO of IAB UK said “We knew at the outset of this process that we were looking for an outstanding candidate - and I am delighted to say we found her. Jules’s impressive track record and commercial, technology and media experience made our decision both easy and unanimous.”

Jules Kendrick, new Chief Executive Offer of JICWEBS added “I’m excited to join JICWEBS at such an important time, both for the business and the industry. I’m looking forward to working with our team and our stakeholders to build on the great achievements already made towards ensuring our digital ad industry raises standards to create greater trust and transparency for our advertisers.”

The appointment follows JICWEBS' partnership with the Trustworthy Accountability Group (TAG) in the US and has recently announced a key initiative for the UK, the adoption of the TAG ‘Certified Against Fraud’ programme from 1st January 2019.
