'Shop responsibly' campaign by Publicis Groupe aims to improve customer behaviour

Publicis Groupe have teamed up with brands to launch a campaign today, (Friday 3 April) encouraging consumers to adopt more considerate shopping habits amid the coronavirus pandemic.

Publicis Groupe have developed a platform, Shop Responsibly, that it hopes can harness their combined influence and help facilitate industry coming together to ease some of the biggest pressures on the country right now.

It’s a brand-neutral, easy to apply, platform that reminds consumers to buy only what they need, to think of other people whose needs are greater, to shop online wherever possible and to think about how they can help their neighbours with their shopping, whether that’s combining deliveries or helping out a neighbour who’s unable to shop online.

Phil Smith, ISBA's Director General, said of the campaign: "We champion an environment that is transparent, responsible and accountable, and this is more important now than ever. Advertisers have a vital role to play in driving positive behaviour changes during this crisis."

The campaign will include messages on retailers’ websites, email communications and social media activity.
