ISBA announces today that Margaret Jobling, CMO of NatWest is to become ISBA President. Margaret is one of the UK’s most senior marketers and has served as an ISBA Council member for seven years.
Margaret takes over the role from Peter Duffy, CEO of Moneysupermarket, who has been a highly vocal supporter of ISBA’s cross media measurement initiative, Origin.
Margaret is a seasoned FTSE 100 Business Leader with a history of delivery in the consumer goods & utilities industries. She has had a long career in marketing, having held senior roles at several well-known companies including Centrica, Bird’s Eye, Cadbury and Unilever.
Peter Duffy said of her appointment: "I have had an incredibly rewarding time as ISBA President, during my tenure I have seen how vital ISBA is for marketers. I have been fortunate to work alongside Margaret as a fellow ISBA council member for the last few years and I am thrilled she has taken on the role. She will ensure ISBA remains relevant and effective and continues to deliver results for marketers across the UK."
This is an important appointment for ISBA, at a time when industry is facing a huge wave of regulation, brands are being challenged by the cost-of-living crisis and the impact of Brexit is still being understood. Having a trade body that advocates and represents has never been more important.
Commenting on her appointment Margaret said: "Taking on the role of ISBA president is a real honour, I have worked closely with Phil and his team over the last few years and seen ISBA transform into a real catalyst for change that is really making an impact. I am really looking forward to making my contribution to this vital organisation."
Phil Smith said: "Peter Duffy has been an incredibly active President and we are very grateful for his contribution over the last two years. I’ve personally valued his support and wise counsel. Margaret was our first choice as his successor, and I know her passion and experience will bring huge benefit to ISBA."
Margaret will start as ISBA President with immediate effect.
