ISBA welcome the Online Advertising Programme consultation however, we are extremely concerned about the possibility that Ministers might rip up the current regulatory system, which has been a world-leading success story. The UK has a proportionate, adaptable and robust approach that works for consumers and advertisers. We do not see that any case has been made for a disruptive and potentially damaging upheaval.
We do welcome the proposed widening out of responsibility for the prevention of harm caused by the content or placement of ads to platforms, intermediaries, publishers and brand advertisers.
